A 19th Century straight bladed sidearm from Sumatra known as a badik.

Carved wooden hilt and horn scabbard. Overall length is 10" long. In good condition.

Wooden handle of a typical Sulawesi-styled Bugis badik, but this one is probably made in Sumatra. Sheath is made of kerbau horn with simple engraving.

The kerbau (carabao) horn sheath is held together with white metal rivets.
