Alam Shah's Keris Gallery
Welcome
Welcome to "Alam Shah's Collection"

This website contain pictures of my collection. Mainly keris and other ethnographic weapons within the Malay Archipelago.

These pieces were posted with known details about them, (which including assumptions, thoughts...etc).

These are real kerises. Most are old but there are some newer ones. These pieces are open for discussion and comments. Do feel free to leave comments.

The keris is a great many things. It is a weapon, an artwork, symbol of status, symbol of sovereignty, identity, protective charm, pusaka, ceremonial item and most importantly, the embodiment of the essence and spirit of the many cultures in the Malay Archipelago.

Do note that these pieces are my personal collection and not for sale.

Best regards,

Shahrial

-------------------------------------
Darah Perjuangan Hang Tuah

Hidup mati dua keadaan
Itulah buah hasil perjuangan
Dalam menunaikan panggilan kewajipan
Menjunjung titah bangsa dan watan

Pantang darahku mengaku kalah
Selagi tubuhku masih berdarah
Lebih mulia mati dari menyerah
Supaya tanah airku hidup megah

Hidupku hanya membayar kewajipan
Menjaga diri mengawal watan
Kerisku ini perisai pengakuan
Tanah air kan mendapat perlindungan

Darahku kan jadi cemeti
Menghidupkan jiwa pemuda pemudi
Untuk bangkit memberi bakti
Supaya hidup, hidup ibu pertiwi

-------------------------------------
Pantun Silat

Langkah menyisih bauran harapan
Mengukir rencana di persada bangsa;
Titipan kasih junjungan watan
Mekar impian sejahtera nusa.

Anak haruan si anak sepat
Berenang menyusur ke dalam lukah;
Langkah pahlawan langkah beradat
Pantang mengundur walaupun selangkah

From the Holy Quran
(about Iron)

We verily sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance, that mankind may observe right measure; and He revealed iron, wherein is mighty power and ( many ) uses for mankind, and that Allah know him who helpeth Him and His messengers, though unseen. Behold! Allah is Strong and Almighty.

Holy Quran, Chapter 57 - Al Hadid, 25th sentence

-------------------------------------

Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Kuat lagi Maha Perkasa.

Al Quran, Surat 57 - Al Hadid, Ayat 25

About Me
Online, I'm known as Alam Shah. An average Malay who loves old weapons...and IT.

My interest includes keris, malay edged weapons, knives, martial arts, mysticism, travelling.

My fascination with keris and other old weapons had led me to learn more about them. While learning its history, culture and heritage, I collect some along the way. :)
